Pop Surrealism Art Focused on Animals

Humans can build walls and cities and malls and weapons, but we can never truly separate from earth. I want to create powerful visual messages that shatter the illusions of superiority of humans over animals. I passionately love animals, and it has broken my heart all of my life to witness humans selfishly loot and destroy their homes and exploit their bodies and very existence. Though I have been active in animal rights throughout my life, I have felt, at times, very worn down and powerless to help the precious animal children of earth. Through personal and spiritual development and the decision to pursue a life that honors my natural strengths, I have discovered that I can use my creative gifts in service to animals and earth. I am painting with the intention of making a significant impact on the way people perceive animals and the natural world. I am making animal art that is combating the false impressions of separation from nature that are perpetuated by a society that wants us to consume at any cost.

It is necessary that we, as a species, learn to respect our planet and nonhuman brothers and sisters as we do our intimate relationships with other humans. It is necessary that we see our natural world as the real world and the only actual world instead of seeing our plastic human world as all-important. One individual may not be able to save the planet or a species, but if we each take ANY step towards responsibility for our actions, even if it’s one person at a time, one person a day, one person a week, change will happen. Pick one small thing you can do and build on it instead of thinking that it doesn’t matter because of what everyone else is doing. Take baby steps. Educate yourself about the current state of the planet (check out some of the links below), recycle something, buy organic, plant some flowers, be kind to the creatures you encounter throughout your day, be vegan one day a week, etc., etc., etc. Once you have developed the habit you chose as your first baby step, take another baby step and select something else to add to your personal, respectable actions towards earth. You life will be fuller along with the collective consciousness of the planet.
